Questions and answers
Can foreigners buy property in Oman?
Yes. All nationalities can own freehold in designated communities such as the integrated tourism complexes; recent reforms have widened the areas open to foreign buyers.
Does buying property give me residency?
A qualifying freehold home lets you apply for a renewable owner’s residence for yourself and your family; a larger qualifying investment can support the ten-year investor residency. Neither is automatic.
Is there a path to citizenship?
No. Oman does not offer citizenship by investment.
Are there taxes on property?
No annual property tax, personal income tax or capital-gains tax for individuals at present; registration fees apply on transfer.
Why do you not show prices?
Price lists and payment plans change between releases, so we send the current list directly rather than publish figures that go stale.
Can I complete the purchase from abroad?
Yes, through video viewings, remote signing and power of attorney; a visit is usually needed later for residency biometrics.
How long does it take to get the title deed?
On a completed property, at transfer; on off-plan, at completion once the price is settled.
What happens if a developer is delayed?
Sale agreements set out delay provisions and buyer funds on registered projects sit in escrow; we review both before you sign.
Can my family join me?
Yes. Spouses and dependants can be sponsored on your residence; the investor programme includes first-degree relatives without age limits.
Is Oman a good place to retire?
Many owners think so: safe, warm, quiet and with property-linked residence that needs no employer.
